The North America NACS/CCRRC report, which outlines the evolving needs of c-store customers to help retailers better serve them, reveals that c-store customers want a digital experience as well as healthy and portable food.
The report outlines the evolving needs of c-store customers and advises convenience retailers on how to serve them more successfully.
According to the report, c-store shoppers pay attention to:
1. SPEED: Nearly 80% of c-store food and beverage consumption starts on the go — retailers should offer an assortment of single-serve, portable foods and beverages for on-the-go consumers.
2. QUALITY: 81% of consumers want a balance between current traditional and fresh/healthy foods at c-stores — retailers should offer more high-quality, fresh and healthy foods and beverage options.
3. TECHNOLOGY: 75% of millennials say they would use digital pre-ordering if provided by a c-store — retailers should consider offering a smartphone-friendly loyalty program that can earn points and allow for preordering..
