Jim's experience in the commercial store design industry began over 25 years ago with the design department of the Zahn Drug company (Melrose Park, IL) working on Convenience Store and Pharmacy design and build projects.

 

In 1989, Jim went to work for Illinois Range Company (Mt. Prospect, IL) as a design associate in their McDonald's Corporation new and remodeled store division.  His experience there included store layout, final connection plans and custom stainless steel design. During his tenure there Jim (Jr), along with Jim Richards (Sr) partnered to work with McDonald's corporate executives in designing and launching their Hearth Express concept (Darien, IL).

 

In 1998, Jim became employed by Professionally Engineered Systems, (Northlake, IL) a design and equipment company owned by Jim Richards (Sr.). While working  there he contributed to the development of a prototype convenience store design for client Gas City, LTD (Frankfort, IL.) and began development on "TheCstoreEstore.com", an online c-store equipment retailer. 


In late 2001 he established Cademan Enterprises, LLC and launched "TheCstoreEstore.com".

 

In 2003, Jim opened two restaurants in Sarasota, Florida.  Bagelwich Deli was a 40 seat breakfast and lunch QSR.  Andrew's on Longwood Run was a 50 seat full service restaurant.  He operated the two locations until the business were sold.

From 2005 through 2011, Jim served as Senior Design Associate for Fishman and Associates (Venice, FL), serving as Vice President of operations and design from 2010 through 2011. There he designed and managed projects for Manatee and Sarasota County Schools including two tech school culinary teaching kitchen projects, Government food service projects in Washington D.C., and the Baltimore Orioles Spring Training Stadium (Sarasota, FL).

Most recently, Jim (Jr) and Jim Richards (Sr) have partnered once again to  launch the PES Design Group, the Food Service and C-Store design services division of Cademan Enterprises, LLC.


Jim's expertise is in food service consulting, design, equipment specification and overall project management.

Jim began his career in food service design in the late 1960's working for companies such as Leitner /Nationwide Equipment (Franklin Park, IL. Institutional Equipment (Elmhurst, IL)Canteen Corporation (Chicago IL.), Food Service Concepts (Des Plaines, IL), and Plan Corporation (Lombard , IL).

In 1990, Jim founded Professionally Engineered Systems, a Foodservice and C-Store design firm and equipment company. Within a few years he developed a leading edge prototype store design for client Gas City, LTD (Frankfort, IL) which enabled them to significantly cut costs and build stores in around 90 days.

Since then Jim's clients have included some of the biggest names in the C-store industry as well as independently owned stores and chains such as Gas N Wash, Food N Fuel, Maverick C-Stores, Gas City, Fuller's Car Wash and Roadrunner Pantry.

Most recently, Jim (Sr) and Jim Richards (Jr) have partnered to launch the PES Design Group, the design services division of Cademan Enterprises, LLC.
